Elizabeth Chanakira Cancer Trust Harare Launch

Elizabeth Chanakira Cancer Trust (ECCT) is pleased to extend an invitation to its launch in Harare, Zimbabwe. Join us as we celebrate the birth of the ECCT and begin the support of 5 cancer patients and their families who are currently struggling to make ends meet.

The ECCT was born after the Founder, Teurai Chanakira’s mother (Elizabeth) lost her 7-year battle with cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Zimbabwe. With no subsidized costs for cancer treatment, marginalized cancer patients have little or no hope.

The evening includes:
- Hear directly from the patients and families you are helping to support.
- Meet Founder, Teurai Chanakira.
- Fashion show produced by award~winning Catherine Ruze Agency featuring designs by Melusi Hlanyange Fashion & Shadow by Sidumiso.
- Music entertainment.
- Auction with fantastic prizes. This includes the chance to win a private dinner party for up to 10 people hosted by top chef, Rory Lumsden and more.
- Delicious buffet & beverage selection.

Tickets are $25 and the event is on Thursday, 25 October, from 6pm to 10pm at Crown Plaza Hotel.

By the way, Teurai Chanakira is my online personal trainer so i can`t wait to show her the little progress i`ve made so far..

Miss Curvy Zimbabwe 2012

It's finally here! I, for one, have been waiting for this and i'm excited for it. I auditioned for it, by the way, and didn't make it smh.

The event is being held at the Rainbow Towers tonight from 8pm and the afterparty is at Stars Studios.

Tickets are only $10 so hurry, go get yours.

For those that don't know, Miss.Curvy supports the African woman. It's not about being slim but about being curvy. So, by default, the African woman is a number 8 shape; Boobs, small waist, flat tummy and hips. It don't matter how big or small a woman is, as long as they have the shape that i've just described, they qualify. Finally, here's an event that doesn't stereotype women. Mercy, you did a very good job. Kudos!

My Latest Buy - 1/10/12

1. The Jeans

I've been a size 16 for a while now and since i started this new diet, i've been losing gradually so when i went shopping i was like, what the hell, and actually went for a size 14 and alas, it fit:-) I'm so loving my new skinnies!

2. The Shoes

I must admit, i'm a sucker for wedges. Why? Beause they are so comfortable, i can wear them all day without any ankle pain and also, i don't have to worry about damaging the tips. I'm so in love with this colour right now. Can't the weekend come already so i can rock them and show them off!?

My New Diet

So i decided to permanently change the way i eat and my lifestyle altogether and so far, the results are amazing.

My breakfast now consists of cereal with fruit only.

Lunch i have sadza/rice with beef/chicken stew or roasted chicken and a lot of vegetables. My portion is half the size i would normally consume.

Supper/dinner is always salad. Initially, i wanted to have salad for lunch but i finally concluded that it's better to eat lightly in the evening so i do not go to bed with a bloated stomach.

My salad consists of lettuce, apples, cucumber and danish ham. At times, i do add salad dressing for extra flavour.

It's been a week since i started this new eating routine and so far i've lost 1.5kg. Whoop, whoop!
